Dayton Dynamo FC held an event at The Dayton Beer Company on Friday evening to reveal new uniforms for the 2017 National Premier Soccer League season. New jerseys were in the spotlight, but DDFC President and CEO David Satterwhite also shared a several additional items with an expectant crowd of supporters.
The new jerseys, produced by Admiral Sports, were designed with an intent to create an identifiable style for Dynamo FC. The focal point of the new look is diagonal striping across the whole jersey. The home jerseys feature alternating white and grey stripes, and the away uniform are blue and black.
“The design behind the jerseys this year is based on an iconic look. You look at Inter Milan. They’ve got the blue and black stripes. You look at Celtic Football Club. They’ve got the green hoops,” said Satterwhite. “This design will be our go-to brand.”
The new uniforms arrive in time for Dynamo FC to move into its new home. After spending its inaugural season in Dayton at Welcome Stadium, the team will move to Chaminade Julienne’s newly constructed Roger Glass Stadium. The advantages of Roger Glass Stadium include its proximity to the center of the city and a more intimate setting with seats virtually on top of the pitch.
DDFC is offering multi-tiered season ticket packages and single game tickets. Premium seating near midfield comes with seat backs and a server to bring your orders from the concession stand. More affordable general admission tickets are in the bleachers opposite the press box.
The facilities will allow the club to provide an enhanced gameday experience. Several activities, including pregame soccer camps, tennis soccer, and musical performances, are being planned. Satterwhite also hinted at another surprise to be announced in the future.
Part of the experience that some fans missed last season was the sale of alcoholic beverages. That inconvenience will subside with the sale of beer at matches in 2017. The entire drink menu has yet to be decided, but it will include two new brews, an IPA and a lager, created by The Dayton Beer Company.
The Full 90 IPA and GSC lager will be sold at Dynamo FC home matches and will be available for purchase all around the Dayton area. An official release date has not been decided.
The most important thing about the upcoming season is, of course, the actual soccer. Dayton struggled through the regular season in 2016, but a switch in conference alignment will provide a different set of opponents next season. DDFC is moving to the NPSL Midwest East conference in 2017, joining Erie Commodores FC, Fort Pitt, FC Buffalo, Rochester Riverdogz FC, and defending NPSL champions, AFC Cleveland.
The front office has taken steps to make sure that patrons enjoy themselves at a Dayton Dynamo FC match. It will be up to the technical staff and the players to make sure fans are still smiling after full time.
